DARG
DARG is a pro-life, non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, sterilization and re-homing of abused, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. It is our vision to be a leading example of animal sheltering in South Africa.
DARG is situated on the Main Road in Hout Bay. The shelter is open 9am to 4pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We unconditionally take in homeless animals. Owned animals are only taken in if and when there is space and after many conditions are met by the owners (ie. vaccs up to date, sterilization done, etc). The shelter is run by a handful of staff and an ever growing group of extremely loyal volunteers.

KAPS - Karoo Animal Protection Society
KAPS is a small mobile society run by volunteers, delivering free assistance for animals of all kinds into impoverished communities where there are no vets. From a core area in the Little Karoo, based in Barrydale, KAPS works in five municipalities. Our vehicles travel as far as the Cape south coast, to Calitzdorp near Oudtshoorn, and into poor rural areas of the Eastern Cape including Willowmore and Aberdeen. Services include inspecting door to door, feeding, rescuing and rehoming, basic and emergency medical assistance, and mass sterilising campaigns.
